Compare to Microsoft, they still can't get it together in regards to 32/64 bit compliancy on their flagship products (Office etc.) - at least there's some direction being outlined here. I think that strong decisions from up top (i.e.
#DECIMORT 2 NOT WORKING 64 BIT#
I remember when users were up in arms at apple because of their decision to commit to 64 bit apps, developers had years to develop third party AU's to be compliant, yet many didn't. I'm presuming that applies for those working on audio units too, but maybe it's a dark cold niche place. In my experience as an app developer, Apple are pretty good in getting the libraries and dev environments out to *anyone* with a developer account, and there's a wide range of resources available to you, even the smallest of developers do have a relatively decent window of time to prepare. Apple are moving towards a universal system whereby plugins will work on iOS and OSX, this will really help developers big time to put a single product out to multiple marketplaces. Which, has to be put into effect due to the inability of many people who decide to steal the work of others.Ģ month wait to get working hardware that sucks most, i would be livid.Īs for the AU architecture moving forwards, i think that's a good thing, AU development has been stale for many years, comparing to VST (as a technology) it's way behind. until I'm FORCED to change.Ĭrappy experience i know, but to put it in perspective, you've been the victim of a hardware fault and further to that the cons of piracy protection.
#DECIMORT 2 NOT WORKING PRO#
I'm sticking with Yosemite and Logic Pro 10.2 for a while. Now I'm going to make some music on my new set-up (but not up to the minute).
#DECIMORT 2 NOT WORKING UPDATE#
Everything for them comes to a halt, to update and be compatible with Apples changes. Several of these companies are small (sometimes 1 person). I've spoken with a few 3rd party software companies who are getting upset, with having to rewrite their code every Logic update. I don't like coming here to read about all the 'issues' or spend my time 'googling' for solutions. I want to create music, not spend my time debugging hardware, software, compatibility for companies who care mostly about the $$$$. This change has been the biggest headache of my life. Dozens of re-activations for all my 3rd party plug-ins. but eventually gave me links to download again and not pay extra. IK multimedia wanted me to pay $150 to re-download my Sampletank 3 library. So I've had to re-activate all my plug-ins 3 times, two new mac pros, and again, when I got a replacement RAID system. After 2 months, Apple sent me a new Mac Pro, and later replaced my 24 TB Thunderbay RAID system (so they could try to duplicate and resolve the issue). The Mac Pro I got had a defective Thunderbolt bus, (about 2% do). Since music is the only thing in life that really matters, I spent the money. (computer, hardware changes, Thunderbolt, etc. I'm fed up with 'up to the minute new changes'.

I'm no computer technician, and don't understand why it is creating such major issues/errors on my reasonably good computer-based music production system.įor anyone else thinking of updating OSX, I'd be very careful before initiating such procedures.īest of luck to those who have it working properly, and to those who will inevitably experience similar issues as I am currently.
#DECIMORT 2 NOT WORKING HOW TO#
This is incredibly frustrating for a musician who basically knows how to use the programs, and is also up-skilling with newer plugins suites. Now, I really think I should have stayed on my older 10.9.5 OSX. I had read of several people, who are running DAWs etc, that they were happy with this update to OSX. I finally thought yesterday that by now, surely, the initial bugs would be sorted out.
#DECIMORT 2 NOT WORKING INSTALL#
The 'install' sessions also seem to have wiped my Kontakt settings, ( i tried opening Kontakt in stand-alone) and is asking that I 'activate' Kontakt etc etc.īasically, at this point, it has completely disfigured my entire iMac setup, to the point where my Trackpad won't function as it should, the system is not recognising my Apple ID / password, and the list goes on.Īt least I do have the name and contact details for the Support Tech person, so I can try to call him today to see what can be done.Īfter having read about other people having problems in these and other forums, searches etc, I was not going to install El Capitan. It has actually, on the 3rd attempt, installed per se, but has completely wiped out my entire LPX content etc, and automatically went to download the content when I initially tried to launch LPX. Without wasting space here, suffice to say that afyer an entire day / evening, and several Apple Support 'chat' sessions, as well as a long phone-support session, which was handled by their 'expert' section, El Capitan is still not fully installing. Yesterday I spent 9 hours (maybe more) attempting to install El Capitan.
